(as of March 20, 2020)
This private airport was built as one of the infrastructure facilities to support the transportation needs of PT. Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP) and its tenants. The users comprise of IMIP's corporate executives, its workers, staff as well as the tenants and their guests and investors.
Since 2017 IMIP has been chartering a small Cessna Caravan 208B EX aircraft to support their internal operations and by end of September 2019, IMIP will receive two chartered regional jets aircrafts Embraer ERJ 145 LR, to commute their staffs from IMIP site to Indonesian international airports so management and staffs can connect with international flights to wherever they need to travel to.
Prior to having this airport, anybody who has to travel from Jakarta to IMIP site has to endure a travel time of over than ten hours, combining all three modes of transportation; air, sea and land. Now, all it takes is a 2.5-hour flight time.
Being a private airport, IMIP Airport can only receive aircrafts which are owned or chartered by IMIP or its Principal and Investors or by IMIP's Tenants. IMIP's Managements, Owners, Tenants' guests or prospect investors who use their private or charter aircrafts are welcome to use IMIP Airport as long as they are officially invited.
Commercial airlines regular flights or private jet flights, except when the user/charterer has a business relationship with one of IMIP's tenants, cannot use IMIP Airport. All aircrafts that intend to land at IMIP Airport need to obtain a slot time recommendation approval from IMIP cq IMIP Airport Management using the standard form request. Slot Time Recommendation Approval can be requested to IMIP Airport administration department or through AFM.
Once you have obtained an approval from IMIP Airport, you need to apply for a landing permit, just like when you plan to land at any airport in Indonesia. Your trip support company/ground handling agent should be able to assist. You can also email AFM at
ops@afmaviasi.com if you need AFM to assist you in obtaining the approval from IMIP Airport, as well as obtaining the necessary landing permit from the Indonesia Ministry of Transportation.
Through partnership with PT. Gemilang Tunas Andalan, AFM has been appointed as technical consultant to IMIP Airport.

Air to ground communications is provided by IMIP Airport AFIS (Aerodrome Flight Information Service) on frequency 118.65 using "IMIP Airport" call sign. Rescue and Fire Fighting Services (RFFS) category is 6. Runway PCN is 68 F/C/X/T.
Air BP is the official fuel supplier at this airport. You need to have an Air BP account or Sterling Card to be able to uplift Jet-A1 aviation fuel. Until further changes, a 48-hour prior advice is required if you wish to uplift fuel.
Aircrafts that have used and landed at IMIP Airport are Hercules C 130, Airbus 318 ACJ, Gulfstream 550, Legacy 650, Falcon 7X, Falcon 900, Cessna Grand Caravan Ex and a few types of helicopters.
ENTRY POINTS & SPECIAL PERMIT TO FLY DOMESTIC ROUTE REQUIRED
Since IMIP Airport is not an international airport, a foreign registered aircraft, not Indonesia registered, needs to clear CIQ (customs, immigration and quarantine) at one of Indonesia's international airports. If you are flying from North Asia, we suggest that you clear at Manado (WAMM). If you are flying from Australia, we suggest Ujung Pandang (WAAA) or Bali (WADD). From Singapore, you can use Pontianak (WIOO) or Balikpapan (WALL).
You also need to apply for a Special Permit to fly domestic legs within Indonesia. This may take up to seven working days.
IMIP Airport itself provides a helicopter parking stand near the terminal.
For other IMIP Airport information, please find them in the two notams attached, 1)
Temporary NOTAM, 2)
Permanent NOTAM.
Notes
1. You may find WAMP code being used by another airport called Kasigincu/Poso which was used in the early days and currently having its four letter code of WAFP, located nearby IMIP airport. That information is no longer valid. WAMP is now ICAO code of IMIP Private Airport, as you can find in the NOTAM.
2. Information updated on March 23, 2020.
