AFM specializes in handling business aircrafts. We cover the whole archipelago of Indonesia through our own offices and our ground handling networks.
Base offices in Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport in Jakarta (WIHH), I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar Bali (WADD) and Sam Ratulangi International Airport in Manado (WAMM), we are physically present in most locations in Indonesia. When necessary, we dispatch our flight operations personnel to the airport that your aircraft lands.
We own most ground support equipment ourselves and operated by our licensed personnel. Those equipment include aircraft towing tractors (Toyota & TLD), baggage towing tractors (Toyota), tow bar and heads (Aero Specialties USA), lavatory service carts, potable water service carts and tarmac transportation vehicles. All of the equipment in WIHH and WADD are five years old or less. In WAMM, being a new operation office, the equipment were all purchased new in the last quarter of 2019.
Our operations are covered by liabilities insurance. You can see the coverage amount and other details in our Standard Ground Handling Agreement (SGHA). Click here.
Photos of Airport Facilities
We present to you some pictures of the actual facilities in some major airports in Indonesia. By seeing these, we trust that you will have better understanding on what Indonesia airports have to offer.
On this page, you can also find maps of Halim and Bali airports.

1. Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport, Jakarta (WIHH)
Halim Perdanakusuma Int'l Airport is a semi-military airport, very strictly controlled by Indonesia Air Force, even though it is operated by Angkasa Pura II, a state-owned airport operator company. The Air Force has a final say over most decisions as they own everything except the airport terminal.
Halim is a general aviation airport for Jakarta. Located much nearer to down town of Jakarta, it is easier to access compared to Soekarno-Hatta Int'l Airport (WIII). If you stay in JW Marriott Hotel which is located down town, it takes you a 30-minute drive to reach Halim. It takes at least a 60-minute drive to reach Soekarno-Hatta Airport from the same hotel.
Apart from being a GA airport, Halim is also used to serve the following flights:
- Presidential / Vice Presidential flights
- Military exercise flights
- Visiting head of states flights
- Scheduled airliners flights, for domestic route only.
Because of the above, Halim airport has become the busiest airport with continuous and unexpected NOTAM publications. Airport and runway closures happen almost every day. Sometimes with no prior advice due to "confidential" military drills.
The last few years, since commercial airliners started operating into Halim, most parking bays are taken by these aircraft on daily basis hence private jets are allowed to park in the main apron for a maximum of two hours.
Despite all the difficulties and challenges in operating a jet out of Halim, it remains the most preferred airport for private jet owners in Indonesia. Slots are also easier to obtain.
Up until now, there is no FBO in Halim airport but there are a couple of very descent lounges to use for private aircraft passengers and crew.

2. I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali (WADD)
I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali is the only airport in Indonesia that operates an FBO (fixed base operator).
The FBO, which is called GAT (general aviation terminal), has been operated by Angkasa Pura Hotel since 2017 and open for all licensed ground handling companies in Bali like AFM to use.
Being the second busiest airport in Indonesia, with more than four hundred movements per day on a single runway, Bali is not a slot-friendly airport. Compared to flexibility in securing a parking space, obtaining your desired slots are much bigger a challenge. Hence, please submit arrival and departure slots early when planning to come to Bali.

Special Notes on Customs Clearance
Customs clearance in Bali airport is very strict. Each passenger is allowed to bring a maximum of one litre of alcohol. Excess amount may be confiscated and destroyed by customs officers. If you are planning to bring more than the amount allowed, it is strongly suggested that you advise us prior to arrival, preferably at least one day prior. A customs declaration form is available,

3. Sam Ratulangi International Airport, Manado (WAMM)
Home to the famous Bunaken island, where divers and snorkelers from other parts of the world enjoy crystal clear water and the beauty of sea creatures underneath, Manado is perfectly located as a hub between North Asia and Australia bound flights, or vice versa. Sam Ratulangi International Airport, capable of taking up to a Boeing 737-800 or similar, is there to welcome you. It is an airport of entry and the destination offers some unique tourist attractions that need to be personally experienced to understand.

4. Juanda International Airport, Surabaya (WARR)
The second largest city of Indonesia, Surabaya has been the main city to turn to for most business people living in the eastern part of Indonesia. The city itself is surrounded by industrial area, lots of factories and manufacturing facilities. Unlike many other airports in Indonesia that are controlled by Air Force of Indonesia, Juanda International Airport is under the command of Indonesia Navy. The airport is also an entry port for tourists wanting to visit the famous Mount Bromo.
There is a VIP room that’s not available commercially but we can organize usage of it for private jet passengers, if the room is not being used. In the event it is being used, we will request for a permit to allow passengers to walk through the room. This way, passengers do not need to go through the main terminal which is located far away from where a private jet is required to park. It is also much more convenient to use this VIP room as the parking lot is only steps away from the room. Cars will stand by on the outer side of the VIP room, which is also only steps away.
5. Kualanamu International Airport, Medan (WIMM)
Located in the northern part of Sumatera Island, Medan is an entry point for business people, especially for those doing business in the field of crude palm oil and plantations. The airport offers exclusive lounge and waiting facilities for private jet passengers.
